Tap Dance Class

 What is Tap?

Tap is a lively and rhythmic dance style that transforms the dancer into a musician. Using shoes fitted with metal taps, students learn to create sound through movement—developing timing, coordination, and musicality from the very first class.

Tap dance has deep cultural roots, originating in America through a fusion of African rhythms, Irish step dancing, and English clogging. The ISTD Tap syllabus celebrates this rich heritage, training dancers to use their feet as percussive instruments and to develop rhythm, artistry, and performance confidence.

For Children:
Children’s tap classes are energetic and engaging, helping young students build rhythm, coordination, and confidence. The sound of the taps makes timing easier to grasp and adds an exciting layer to learning. Classes are designed to be fun and structured, encouraging focus while keeping students motivated through movement and music.

For Adults:
Adult tap classes offer a dynamic way to improve coordination, musical awareness, and mental focus. With a clear and supportive approach, students learn to build rhythmic patterns and precision at their own pace. Whether you're new to tap or returning after a break, our classes provide a welcoming space to enjoy movement and progress in a relaxed, encouraging environment.
